Anybody else watching The Watch on BBC America? Anybody else watching, who is also a huge Terry Pratchett fan? Thoughts? I am sure many people are spending their entertainment time screaming at the TV as the storyline is definitely something not to be found in the many, many Discworld novels. And while I would delight…

For almost as long as COVID-19 has been around, there has been this thing going around FB, asking if you know anyone personally who has COVID or who has died from COVID. WTF is that all about?   What is it supposed to accomplish? Are people trying to establish their own head count?  Trust me,…

While waiting at my HMO to go in for my colonoscopy, I struck up a conversation with another fat old lady.  Turns out she is a WLS (weight-loss surgery) survivor.  She told me that her surgery (which she had some 20 years ago) did not work.  Like many people she blamed herself for the failure…

Growing up, it was common to hear someone in our household saying, “Give Terri a cookie.” This was because, when I get hungry; I tend to get hangry.  Well, not exactly angry – just really, really grumpy. As the years went by, I would forget this about myself; until, my own body and nature, would…

But we can’t make the liquified shit you have to drink before a colonoscopy taste like something other than slimy bitter salt water? Gack. WTF is in this stuff?  I’m guessing the contents of Shrek’s neti pot. (And yes, I know I missed posting yesterday – because I had to go to bed really early…

And the answer is  … yes and no. Theater is a meritocracy in that you don’t just need a certain skill set; you also have to have intangibles like talent and stage presence, and even that isn’t always enough to land you the role you’ve set your heart on. Sometimes it’s about who you know.…

AARP is joining up with WW (formerly Weight Watchers). First, I would like to point out that when a company with a very recognizable name decides to change that name, it usually means that there is so much negativity associated with the well known brand name that there is no longer enough goodwill associated with…

Turns out … pretty fucking vain. I have (finally) gotten back to scanning in the many (MANY) photos into digital format.  A long time ago I started this project, and then I dropped the ball – for YEARS. But now that I’m putting the contents of the cardboard boxes that Murphy (our orange cardboard clawing…

It’s late.  I should be in bed (trying to sleep); but … Leo (our brown tabby) is cuddled up in my sweater (I swaddle him in it – while I’m wearing it – so I can do things and he’s still supported securely) and purring. Who can bitch with a super cuddlesome cat? Apparently, not…
