Many people wonder what the producer does. Well, the job is in the title. The producer is in charge of making sure all the thousands of bits and pieces necessary for a show are in place and come together. They take the chaos that is making theater and actually organize it! Costumes, scenery designer and…

Growing up, I was blessed with “good” skin. Very few zits. As I grew older, the facial lines and wrinkles remained negligible. Of course part of this was because I am a FAT old lady. You can’t put a wrinkle in a bubble! Now that I am a fat OLD lady, my skin has turned…

Maybe. Maybe not. There are two (small) studies that claim it is. High Prevalence of Obesity in severe acute respiratory syndrome etc. Obesity in patients younger than 60, etc. These studies have been scrutinized and evaluated by people in the fat community who are a lot fucking smarter than I am. And those people believe…

I am pretty good at crochet. I am so-so with knitting. I can knit, but it takes a lot of concentration. I find knitting requires a level of meticulousness that is not relaxing enough to enjoy. Here’s my rule of thumb – If you make a mistake knitting, you have a hole in your project.…

Okay. I understand why, to do a capture of a video on my computer screen, it takes as long as the video. Got it. Why then does it only take about 3 minutes for Movavi to save that video into a file on my computer? And it takes Movavi less than 3 minutes to load…

I am old school theater. Really old. I grew up during the days when you didn’t have body mics. Hell, many productions I’ve done had no mics whatsoever. (That’s how old I am.) You were told to project so the people in the last row can hear you. There are good things and bad things…

Lately, all over FaceBook, I’m seeing people posing about how FAT they’re getting because of the shelter-in-place / quarantine. You’re getting FAT? The horror. You mean, you are absolutely disgusted that you might possibly turn into some version of me? Yeah. That’s what you’re saying. And I’m hearing your message loud and clear. So, when…

My first office job was for a small (personal) loan business called Liberty Loan. I turned up for my interview, thinking I was the height of fashion – with my burgundy and white polka dot jumpsuit and matching bolero jacket and my platform shoes.  (Yikes.) The guy who hired me admitted later that he had…

I post these blogs (thisfatoldlady.com) every day. I post them on FaceBook and my FaceBook page (This Fat Old Lady). Now I post YouTube videos every day. I post them on YouTube (Terri Weitze), and share them on Twitter and FaceBook. I have lots of friends and family on FaceBook. Most everybody is quarantined. You…
