Last fall I had the honor of playing Fraulein Schneider in a local production of Cabaret.

I fell in love with the role.

I fell in love with the show.

I am still in love with my amazing and talented cast members and the caring and talented staff.

How much do I love this role?

I still know (almost) all my lines.  (There are a few words here and there that escape me.)

I couldn’t sleep last night, and I ended up running all my lines in my head.

This doesn’t happen with me.

I am famous for, when the show is done, the lines are gone.

When It’s the end of the show, I push this little lever in my head and flush all that unneeded stuff away.

Whoosh.

But Fraulein Schneider is sticking with me.

I suppose someday, she’ll fall away; but for now I’m glad to still know her.

In the meantime, anyone need a Fraulein Schneider?  I’m all memorized and ready to go!
