I tell people all the time – don’t borrow trouble.
So what did I learn today? I learned that I am the worst when it comes to taking my own advice.
I thought I had a bout of depression coming on – but upon examination it turns out that really I was dealing with all the stress I was putting on myself over things that I didn’t need to be worrying about – because these are all things that either aren’t a problem now (and may never be) or are things that I can do something about.
I once read in a book a very wise bit of advice – there are 4 steps to dealing with a problem:
- Identify the problem.
- Decide if there is anything you can do about it.
- Decide if you are willing to do that thing.
- If so – do that thing and the problem is taken care of OR If not – let it go, because you aren’t willing to do whatever needs to be done.
I KNOW all of this; and yet I keep on keeping on with the worries.
There is nothing more to say except – I am such a derf nerfler*
