THIS FAT OLD LADY’S FAT FRIDAY – I’M AN FBA

There is a term in the fat community “FA” – Fat Admirer.

Because of its history, there are some creepy connotations with that term.

So I’ve decided to, for myself, to describe myself as an FBA – a Fat Body Admirer.

Recently, I enjoyed a post in Vol-Up-2 that showed “plus-size” male models.

All I can say is Yum.

8 Trending Plus Size Male Models You Need to Know

Yes, I am objectifying those fat bodies.

I am also taking personal joy in their beauty and enjoying those who are expressing gender fluidity.

I am cishet – but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the beauty of the whole spectrum of gender expression.

And I am especially appreciative of the fat body.

I had an artist friend who told me that many artists prefer a fat model because the body is so much more interesting!

I agree.

Fat bodies come in a whole range of sizes, shapes, rolls, folds.

I appreciate a non-fat body as well – Hell, I appreciate all bodies in their magnificent array of diversity.

Maybe I enjoy fat bodies because that’s what I have.  And I know the bravery of modeling for or creating an expression of a fat body.

There is a joy in the person who is able to express, “Look at who I am!”  “Isn’t this amazing?”

I still have hundreds of boards on Pinterest for Fat Art, but I finally had to stop collecting images because it was becoming overwhelming.

That’s a good thing!  That means that the world is being flooded with images of fat people!

And that makes me so happy!

  2. I think the manner I was raised helps me to understand my inclusive nature when it comes to body sizes. However, I’m equally interested in the personalities people reflect in their attitudes and shared experiences; much of which is illuminating and interesting. I think “plus” sized women are beautiful 🙂
