I have spent the last week catching up on a couple favorite shows that have new episodes on Netflix –Grace and Frankie and Sex Education. I spend a lot of time, while I am watching Grace and Frankie, boggled by how great Jane Fonda still looks.  Actually both she and Lily Tomlin look pretty terrific.…

OMFG. Here is a study that seems based purely on the grounds for setting up future studies – which is fine, I guess, except the purpose of this study is so fucked up. Physical Activity and Adiposity in Infants These people want to study infants to see if you can predict which ones will turn…

Many things I can do boil down to follow the instructions. That’s how I learned to sew. That’s how I learned to do laundry (without turning all my undies pink – although, once, we did end up with some that had a lovely turquoise hue). And most especially, that’s how I learned how to cook.…

I have lived in San Jose for over 24 years now. I left behind an active social life with many friends in Los Angeles. I have people I consider friends in San Jose, but few close friends. Mostly, because I do not take the time to go out and socialize. There are a number of…

My latest show, A New Brain, ended on Sunday. I almost never get upset over the ending of a show. Each show has its lifespan – auditions, callbacks, being cast, rehearsal, memorization, and finally performance. And by the last performance, I am usually ready to have my life back. The same is true of A…

OMG.  I have not felt this tired in a very long time. You know that feeling when you are so tired it actually makes you feel nauseated? That’s how tired I am. And I’m not surprised I’m tired; I’m just surprised I am this tired. Yesterday was the closing for A New Brain – which…

I have been fat most of my life. I have been employed most of my adult life. Has being fat affected my work life? Almost certainly. Mostly, in the jobs I did not get or take. In Los Angeles, I saw an ad, looking for a secretary with “front office appearance”. I’m, like, WTF is…

I learned how to type fairly young. I took various typing courses during my (misspent) youth. First, during Summer Enrichment Program, I took typing. Then my mom sent me to Bay City Business College for a course on typing. Then more Summer Enrichment Program. And finally, more typing my Senior year of high school. The…

First off, I know, WTF? It’s almost Thursday. Fuck you, it took almost all day for me to find something to be pissed off about! As you may know, Microsoft no longer is supporting its Window 7 products. It will no longer give you technical assistance or software updates. Windows 7 was released in 2009…

Okay.  I am currently in a wonderful show called A New Brain. The composer is William Finn. William Finn is known for writing really beautiful and difficult music. A New Brain is no exception. In fact, imho, Mr. Finn has gone out of his way to make this music difficult. In particular, the music for…
