I don’t usually get very upset when celebrities pass. The reality is, I don’t know them. I may appreciate their work but I don’t know them.
But the passing today of Leslie Jordan just breaks my heart a little.
I don’t know him, and I guess I’m late to appreciating his talents, but his performance as Phil in Call Me Kat has just been a spark of pure joy to me. To see this older short pudgy twinkling eyed gay southern gentleman play an older short pudgy twinkling eyed gay southern gentleman for the past couple of years has just made me happy.
And now he’s gone.
And I’m sad that he’s gone because, just like this fat old lady, this sad old world needs as many sparks of joy it can get.
Rest in peace good sir.
