OMG. How I miss my “youth”. I am so exhausted, mentally and physically.
This youth that I am missing dates back to May 6, 2022.
Since then, I know I have been MIA.
The action included flying to Michigan, house hunting, buying a house, some socializing with family (as time permitted between house hunting and buying a house, trying to get the fuck out of Detroit (supposed to be home late Saturday; finally got home Monday morning), packing, packing, and more packing, trying to vet and schedule movers.
Think we have found reputable movers who can adhere to our move-out schedule (although delivery date is very flexible on their end). That will be a huge weight off of the shoulders.
Meanwhile, we have 26 years worth of accumulated crap to pack up.
And yes, there are many stories to tell about our 2 weeks in Michigan, but they are just going to have to wait – and so will you.

Glad you made it back in one piece – NOTHING worse/more stressful than moving, especially on such a
large scale (state to state). Hope you found the perfect house & movers. With long-distance moves you have
to stay on the movers or your stuff will end up in Chattanooga & you’ll be sitting on the floor eating takeaway
& wondering what happened to your furniture. Reality: it SHOULD take about 4 days to get to Michigan.
REAL reality: don’t bet on it. Looking forward to reading the stories.
