Bake!
Yes, I know this is a day late. Get over it. I intend to do WTF Wednesday tomorrow.
Anyhow.
I have some stuff going on right now that has me stressed almost to the breaking point (sorry to vague-blog, but I’ll have more to say in a couple of weeks).
I mean, I can’t take one more thing that is going to aggravate me.
So what’s a stressed fat old lady to do with her last nerve?
Watch The Great British Baking Show of course.
Never watched it before, but I kept hearing such good things about the show – and they were all true. What a lovely, lovely show. Yes, there’s some tension with the competition but everyone is so fucking nice about everything. Even when things go horribly wrong – it just gets shrugged off.
No confessional moments where people bitch about each other.
Eliminated? No argument. It’s always, “It’s okay, that’s fair.”
And the baking?
Glorious!
These creations are just glorious.
So this is how I am soothing my frazzled nerves; and I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants to sit back and be entertained by delightful, creative, and talented people.

Oh, yes! One of the best cooking shows EVER! If you can find it (probably on one of the streaming services)
watch some of the older shows, with Paul Hollywood, Mary Berry, and the two terrific stand-up comic ladies
who co-hosted. They were hysterical, a great pair as co-hosts, really genuine interaction with the bakers.
Mary Berry is the UK’s version of Julia Child, but just for baking & she’s incredible. Nothing like watching
people making gorgeous-looking food to relax you at the end of a stressful day – lots of recipes available on
the internet via PBS & can be easier to make than they look. Happy baking!
I’m watching what’s on Netflix – with Paul Hollywood and Prue (somebody) and the comedians are Noel and Sandi. I figure I’ll bop through these and then maybe check on finding older episodes.
