I am considering buying a “smart” phone.
I am not sure I am qualified, because this is really making me feel stupid. On the other hand, maybe I need a smart phone to look after my fat old ass.
My current phone is a flip Kyocera. Sad, I know.
You don’t know how long it takes me to send a text – and I haven’t a clue how to do capitals or punctuation.
So I’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time online lately looking at and comparing various smart phones. Especially those offered by Virgin Mobile, because that is the company I’ve been with since I’ve had a cell phone and I really kind of like them. They, like myself, are definitely low maintenance.
VM’s website let’s you compare up to four phones at once, which allows me to eliminate and add to that four, whittling down the choices. Then I look at reviews – the bad ones. I want to see if there is a theme in the bitching and moaning. More elimination. Then I look at the latest reviews (which should let me see if problems have been fixed or are continuing).
I think I’ve figured out which phone I want, only I was talking with a co-worker which has the same type of phone, only one generation newer. He really likes his phone, but he says the company will probably be putting out a new generation in about a month. I don’t want to fork over a pile of cash for a phone that will be 2 generations out-of-date when it arrives.
So I’m going to hold tight for a month or so, and see if VM doesn’t start selling the penultimate generation when the new generation comes out.
In the meantime, have a little pity. Don’t ask me to text you.
