Last night, I had the fortuitous opportunity to witness something I don’t believe I have ever seen before.
Murphy has had the sneezes lately.
(I think he has a little cold – no eye or nose discharge – just a few sneezes and sleeping more than usual.)
I was going to bed, and Murphy jumped up on the bed, and had his little furry face pointed at my sleeping husband – so Murphy was facing away from me. And being the immensely happy cat that he is, his tail was straight up.
Thus, I had a clear view of his little kitty butthole.
And he sneezed.
And at the same time, his little kitty butthole gave a little pooch outward.
Not a blow out – just a little pooch.
Just a small physical acknowledgment of the change in air pressure in his body?
OMG. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Up until now, I have only been on the front end of a cat sneeze (not nearly so funny and definitely a wetter experience).
So, do all cats’ buttholes pooch out when they sneeze?
Or are we just the lucky owners of one talented cat?
Inquiring minds want to know.
