Today I finally did something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time.
I made us some Irish Soda Bread.
Nom, nom, nom.
It is so easy to make and it is so yummy. So why don’t I make it more often? One word:
Buttermilk.
Who has buttermilk just hanging around in their fridge? Not me. Cream, yes. Buttermilk, no.
But with St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I made a point to get some.
I was even happier to find that my supermarket now carries buttermilk in pint size. Before all I could find was quart size, and while I love me some Irish Soda Bread, I don’t need to be making 4 loaves. So a lot of the buttermilk gets wasted.
I don’t drink beer (green or otherwise) or whiskey. So instead, we’ll be enjoying another form of seasonal carbohydrates!
