In the world of donuts there are two basic kinds.
Cake donuts and yeast donuts.
Both are delicious. Both have their place in the world (and in my belly).
But there is one major difference between them.
A cake donut fills you up. It has gravitas. It is solid.
A yeast donut is light and airy and dissolves in your mouth.
A yeast donut is the cotton candy of donuts.
It’s there and then it isn’t and it just leaves a tell-tale whisper of sweet in your mouth (and sometimes powdered sugar on your shirt).
It’s fried air covered in sugar.
