Yes, I know. I’ve been MIA – again. You’d think you’d be used to this by now. But retirement is kicking my ass. Or rather the amount of stuff crammed onto my calendar since retirement is kicking my ass.
Seems like I have stuff going on every fucking day!
How did I ever have time to work?
Anyhow, not the point. The point is, as I previously wrote (I think), I have a grapevine wreath on my front door. My cousin Alice made it from vines from my Grandma’s yard (because Alice and her husband bought my Grandma’s house).
I have been decorating the wreath with ribbon and geegaws. I did Easter, and now it’s bedecked for Cinco de Mayo. And at some point, birds built a nest in the front door wreath (nobody taught these birds about the importance of location, location, location) and laid eggs in said nest.
And now, nature has taken it’s course and we have baby birds in the nest.
Sooooooo – we’re going to be celebrating Cinco de Mayo at our house for the foreseeable future.
And I have grand-babies? Grand-birdies?
Fuck you, they are on my front door and I’m claiming those baby birdies as MINE!
(Even if they are ugly little pukes.)
