As before, this is not political.

This is about rules and consequences.

I tried watching the Harris/Pence debate.

I really tried.

I just couldn’t.

At the bottom of my fat old lady heart, I believe in rules.

Just tell me what the rules are and then we go from there.

At the beginning of the debate, the rules were clearly stated.

And yet, we have people not stopping when their time is up. 

WTF?

Not only not stopping, but droning on and on and in no particular hurry to wind it up.

WTAF?

We have interruptions.

WTSF?

I want a new rule.

If you go past your allotted time, that time is deducted from your final statement time and added to the time of your opponent. 

Seems perfectly fair to me. 

Takes the burden off the moderator who is trying to herd kittens; and puts the responsibility on the person breaking the rules.

If there is no consequence to breaking the rule, why do you expect people to follow it?

(My husband feels the consequence is that you look like an asshole to the people watching the debate when you break the rules; but I want a more immediate and tangible result to misbehavior – because – again, I am THAT bitch.)
