THIS FAT OLD LADY’S BRAG BLOG – MY HUSBAND I THINK I’LL KEEP HIM

This is how amazing my husband’s memory is, especially when it comes to music.

Having been big fans of @Midnight, we are now watching the reborn version @fter Midnight on CBS.

Directly following the show (we watch recorded episodes, because old farts like us don’t stay up until after midnight for anything), is the local news program (WNEM – Channel 5).

Bill kept saying that the WNEM News intro was familiar. After just a listen or two, he came up with where he heard it before – the opening of The Mod Squad!

Last night, right after the WNEM opening, he says listen – and on his computer he pulled up the opening to The Mod Squad, and sure as shit, a few seconds in, you hear the WNEM music!

Who the fuck remembers The Mod Squad, much less the opening music and be able to put it together with the WNEM-Channel 5 News opener?

Go look it up for yourself. My husband did the homework, do your own. (Plus I’m too lazy to set up the links here, and if I did put the links in FB would probably fucking drop the post because they hate anything that takes you away from FB.)

My husband is amaze-balls.

  1. You once mentioned tracking down music you wanted to learn & looking for old music books at yard sales & such. Our local library branches have monthly (sometimes weekly) book sales & you never know what you’ll find. My latest scores: coffee table-sized volumes compiled in the late ’80s: The Complete Lyrics of Cole Porter & * The Complete Lyrics of Lorenz Hart.* They were VERY pricey when new but the library was letting them go for $8 apiece, and yes, they ARE large enough to build into a coffee table. Check out what your library does when it wants to get older books off the shelves.

    • Not quite. He sang with the Rutgers Glee Club while he was in college and he’s been in a few musicals. He doesn’t play any instruments. He just has a fantastic ear for music and an amazing memory for just about everything.
