There is a life insurance ad where the family of the deceased (“Mom”) are frantically searching everywhere to find “Mom’s” life insurance policy.
The ad goes on to suggest that you immediately apply to XYZ insurance company to avoid this happening to your children.
How is that going to help your kids find an insurance policy?
“Mom” doesn’t have a lack of insurance. Her kids can’t find the insurance policy.
Does this new insurance company send a copy of your insurance to everyone who might be a beneficiary? Does it come framed and ready to hang on your wall? Does it have a phone app with a locator chip built in?
Know how you find “Mom’s” insurance policy?
Look in “Mom’s” check book or bank statement and see where the premiums were sent.
Duh and you’re welcome. (40 some years in the estate planning/probate biz, bitch.)

This reminds me of some of the material written by the late, great Florence King. If you’ve never read her, check it out: “Southern Ladies & Gentlemen”, “Confessions Of A Failed Southern Lady”, “WASP Where Is Thy Sting?”. Ignore the politics &just read the funny stuff. Florence spent a lot of time deconstructing things as you did with the insurance ad.
Sounds like something I need to check out. Thanks for the recommend.
