THIS FAT OLD LADY’S WHAT YOU EATIN’ TUESDAY – NEW JERSEY PIZZA

I admit, I have no recollection of ever eating NYC pizza; but I have had pizza in various places in New Jersey and it is always amazing.

YUM.

Trust me. You want to know what’s good to eat?  Ask the fat old lady.

So while being stuck in New Jersey doing my wifely duty (admittedly self-imposed); I had to treat myself, and more importantly, introduce my cousin Alice to the absolute sensory joy that is New Jersey pizza.

On recommendation from local friends, we went to Soprano’s Pizza – yes the name is cheesy (and you know I am desperately trying to avoid making some kind of pizza/cheese pun here – will I succeed?  Read on …), but their pizza is to die for (okay – see what I did there? I went for the mob joke instead).  Alice had it twice and I had the stromboli once and the pizza once.

Yes, it’s greasy as fuck; and yet, it tastes just as good the next day cold.  Something you wouldn’t expect from a greasy pizza.  It is totally foldable (as proper NYC and NJ pizza should be), without the slice being big enough to eat your face (unlike many NYC pizzas).  Fresh and flavorful ingredients, and nothing but lots of mozzarella on that baby.

Please could someone from New Jersey move to my neighborhood and open a pizza parlor?

You would have my undying gratitude and all my pizza business.

Alice and her first NJ slice!

  1. NYC and NJ pizza ! Fuhgeddaboudit! Nothing like it anywhere & you made me SO hungry just reading. Sounds like a MUCH better day than the one where you…ah…snapped ( or should that be “un” snapped?). Looking forward to more news-Jersey (sorry…you know I gotta take that cheap pun shot).
