THIS FAT OLD LADY’S WHAT YOU WEARING TUESDAY – CUTE AF

One of my favorite on-line shopping sites is Eshakti.com

It is a company, out of India, that makes clothes in any size.  I mean ANY size.  If you are able to order off-the-rack standard sizes, they go up to a size 36; if you have a unique shape or need something larger, you just provide them with your measurements.

They have beautifully (and fun) designed clothing.  In specific fabrics.  You can customize the look – different hem length, different sleeve lengths, different necklines, pockets or not for a cost of (I think) about $12 – not bad for what is essentially bespoke clothing.  And now, they have added the ability to choose different fabrics for each item of clothing!

And it’s all quite reasonably priced and everything I’ve gotten from them has been beautifully made.

The downside?  Delivery times have way slowed down – I’m guessing because they are becoming more well known and demand is up.

I ordered three new tops in November.  One top showed up last week, the other two have yet to be shipped.

But the top I got is CUTE AF.  OMG.  Navy blue, tiered top, zipper front and hoodie!  With pockets of course.  I fucking love it (just like everything else I’ve gotten from Eshakti).

Only one thing mystified me.  About an inch above the sleeve hem there was a slit in the seam.  Hemmed and since it was on both sleeves, clearly meant to be there.

WTF are these for?

I looked through the packaging, thinking maybe there were some ties that were supposed to go through them to tighten the end of the sleeves as an option?  Nope.  Nothing there.

Oh well, I’m wearing this thing anyway.

I suppose all you fashion mavens out there are screaming at me because, of course, you know what the slits are for.  My sister Karon took one look and she instantly had the answer.

They’re for your thumbs stupid. (Okay she didn’t say “stupid” but I felt it was deeply implied.)

OMG, now I have a top that is not only cute AF but trendy AF!

I feel so fucking fashionable!

  1. It is *so hard* to find plus-size clothing that looks good and doesn’t cost a lot! Plus, finding it in natural fabrics seems impossible. I usually can’t wear polyester because it makes my skin uncomfortable. Thanks for this recommendation – I will definitely check them out!

  2. I forgot to mention that there’s another company in India that makes plus-size clothing, which is HolyClothing.com. Their stuff is more Ren faire-like, fantasy costume-y stuff, but a lot of it can be worn in normal settings. Their prices are reasonable.

    • Oh yeah, I found out about HolyClothing at a Science Fiction Con. Love their clothes; but their sizes do not go to infinity.
