I know it has been forever since I’ve posted. You all know the holidays were here. You all know what a total pain in the keister it is to do all those holiday-related must-dos is. Well holidays are over, and time to try to put life back in order.
And by the way, for all the frustration and bother holiday prep is, it was still an utter joy for me to be able to spend it with my loved ones. I am so lucky.
Anyhow, I’m just going to start with this morning. (A very good place to start.)
I’m at the computer in the she-cave. Berta is on Bill’s chair (the recliner he sleeps in because of the pain from his broken arm – which is getting better but still hurts when he tries to sleep in a bed). Murphy is at the window (probably on squirrel look-out), and Moose is looking for trouble to get into.
Ah Moose.
Moose decides he should sit in front of Bill’s chair and bat at Berta.
Berta does not “play”. Berta is losing her shit. She is growling and yowling and just pissed as she can be. (Note, Moose is declawed (we got him that way) so he can’t really hurt her – just annoy the living hell out of her.)
Moose does it once. But the second time he tries it, here comes Murphy, who tackles Moose and then bats him about the head (see how you like it Moose). Moose is not to be deterred, but every time he starts in, Murphy is on him.
I’m amazed. Moose is befuddled. And Berta is still growling and grumbling because she wants to see some blood spilt.
So I guess Murphy has appointed himself as his big (and I do mean BIG) sister’s protector.
Not that I expect it to lead to a more peaceful household. I don’t regard Moose as a quick learner – especially when teasing Berta leads to so much excitement and noise!
