I keep checking out nearby places as I slowly (but surely, and don’t call me Shirley) explore our neighborhood.
The other day, I was on my way home from Golden Guild rehearsal, and I remembered that I needed some cream.
Our local supermarket doesn’t always have quart sized containers of cream, so I decide to stop at the Freeland Dairy, an establishment I have passed many times but never actually entered.
I enter, and the lady behind the counter asks me what she can help me with.
I reply, I need a quart of cream.
She replies, “We don’t sell cream.”
I stop. Truly dumbfounded.
And then she adds, “We don’t sell milk either.”
I point out the obvious, “But your name is the Freeland DAIRY.”
She just shrugs.
The Freeland Dairy does sell ice cream, beer, wine, chips, crackers, cookies, candy, soda, and pizza.
The Freeland Dairy does not sell milk or cream.
But I do think they should change the name of their business, or at least take down the sign.

Unbelievable. Should turn them in to the National Dairy Council!
HA! That’ll teach them.
