THIS FAT OLD LADY’S TBT – MY MIND, GOD (TIDBI) DO I MISS IT

Today is New Year’s Eve Day.

Apparently, our offices are closed.

I have a list of our office’s holidays – I have it entered the dates into my Google Calendar; I have the list on my desktop (so I don’t have to try to look it up).

And yet … I signed in for work this afternoon.

So now everybody in the office knows exactly how befuddled I am.

Oh well.  If they haven’t already figured this out, they might as well realize it now.  God (TIDBI) knows I don’t try to make it a secret.

But I swear – we usually have to work New Year’s Eve day – they usually give us the afternoon off; but not the whole day!

So I have started two major projects – taking down the tree/putting away Xmas decos; and switching out cardboard boxes with plastic storage containers.

The former is because – I’m just not the kind of person who wants their tree up until Valentine’s Day (or even Martin Luther King Day).

The latter is necessary because at some point, we got teensy little paper-eating bugs in the shed and they have literally eaten out the bottoms of some of the boxes out there.  (I don’t know why we don’t know have huge, stuffed-to-the-gills paper eating bugs lounging about our shed, because they have eaten through a lot of paper and cardboard.)

Also, since we may be moving in the not-too-distant future, it’s a good time to start going through stuff that has been out there since Bill and I got married (Coming up on 25 years! Somebody must be having fun because the time has indeed flown by).

Also, I have a closet in the hallway full of stuff in boxes that our orange terror, Murphy, has literally shredded to bits.

And now I’m wondering if I should buy a tree bag to replace the (paper) box the tree is stored in. (And yes, I should, so I just did – and it has handles and wheels!)

And thus, 2021 begins.

Hold on to your loose objects and remember line cutting is cause for removal from the park!
